Lawn Dude SoCal Billboards Return

LOS ANGELES – It’s the return of the Lawn Dude along Southern California highways, thanks to Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO).

The Southern California Water Committee (SCWC) and CCO announced the second phase yesterday of the @Lawn_Dude advertising campaign aimed at encouraging Californians toremove turf and invest in water-wise landscaping.

Clear Channel Outdoor 3Q Up on Int’l Business

SAN ANTONIO – It’s more of the same for Clear Channel Outdoor (NYSE:CCO) with the latest financial results: international up, North America flat.

This morning, the company reported revenues of $742 million for third-quarter 2014, showing a 3% year-to-year growth from the same time last year. The positives, however, all come from outside North America.

The $329.5 million in 3Q 2014 revenues for CCO’s Americas division represented a $1.8 million (1%) dip from the same time last year. A company statement this morning cited lower national account revenues as the prime culprit; decreases in traditional product lines also partially offset higher digital revenues.

Grimes Out as CCO North America Chief

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Suzanne Grimes’ tenure as head of North America operations for Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO) came to an abrupt end last month.

GrimesIn an 8-K filing with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission, CCO announced Aug. 13 that Grimes “would no longer serve as President and Chief Operating Officer–United States and Canada of the Company,” effective immediately. The company also began a search for a new president/COO for the Americas segment.

The company also announced an three-person interim Office of the President for the Americas segment of its business. Filling the temporary positions are Franklin G. (Rocky) Sisson, interim chief revenue officer for CCO Americas; Gene Leehan, senior regional president for CCO Americas; and Scott Wells of Bain Capital Partners.

LOS ANGELES –Southern Californians will get a jovial jab on freeways and highways about conserving water in this drought-stricken state.
