Shaio Becomes COO at Trans-Lux Corp.

NEW YORK – Trans-Lux Corp. (TNLX) appoints Alberto Shaio on Oct. 7 to the new company position of chief operating officer (COO), a new position within the company.

Shaio also has been a member of Trans-Lux’s board of directors since September 2013.

“We are pleased that Alberto will take a leading role in driving the company’s growth and profitability,” said J.M. Allain, Trans-Lux president/CEO. “His expertise will enable Trans-Lux to sharpen its business focus through coordinated operational strategies and resource allocation.”

Prior to joining Trans-Lux, Shaio was president/CEO of Craftsman Industries, a St. Louis-based manufacturer of mobile marketing and outdoor exhibits for the experiential marketing industry. He previously served as president/CEO of Farrel Corporation, a privately held company that manufactures process equipment for the plastics industry.

In his nearly 40 years of managing companies and divisions of companies, Mr. Shaio has earned a reputation as a respected executive, as well as turn-around success in difficult and challenging markets.

Shaio serves as a member of advisory boards of several investment firms and previously served as a director of New Energy Corporation of Indiana. Additionally, Mr. Shaio has been a member of several multi-national corporate boards both public and private.

He is currently president of the Linda Shaio Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the performing arts and Spanish education.
