New Format for Out of Home Magazine

Out of Home MaagzineOut of Home Magazine will sport a new look for its November-December 2015 edition.

The new web-based format will offer content in an easy-to-read format that should be easy-to-load on a variety of devices, said Emerson Schwartzkopf, OOH Magazine’s editor and publisher.

“The previous digital-issue format allowed us to do some great things with presentation,” he said. “The static format of the pages, however, is creating a problem in reading on smaller screens – specifically, smartphones.”

While it seems like people have iPhones, Androids and Blackberrys attached 24/7, the move to use smartphones to consume all media – not just email text – is growing quickly.”

“We’ve seen the movement to smaller mobile devices grow every month in our reader statistics, and we need to address that,” Schwartzkopf said.

The new format is responsive to the type of device used to read the magazine. All copy and graphics (including photos and advertisements) will be reformatted on-the-fly to accommodate the device screen.
