Outfront Media New Moniker for CBS Outdoor

NEW YORK — CBS Outdoor Americas today began a month-long transformation to its new identity: Outfront Media.

The new name will break the last ties of its former status as a division of CBS Corp., and include rebranding more than 100,000 displays in North America.

Astral Making 40 Toronto Transit Stops Digital

TORONTO – Astral Out-of-Home will deploy 40 digital transit shelters here – a first for downtown Toronto – by December.

Astral Out-of-HomeWith 84” LCD screens, the shelters will be the first Canadian digital networking offering 4K HD for advertising campaigns.

Quebecor Media OOH Gets Laval Bus-Shelter Deal

MONTRÉAL — Quebecor and the Société de transport de Laval (STL) agreed last week on a new 20-year partnership to manage and expand the transport agency’s bus-shelter network.

The agreement, announced July 23, will officially begin on Friday.

“The STL is very happy with this new agreement,” said STL Chair David De Cotis. “It will enable us to expand our network of bus shelters and also boost shelter advertising revenues.

CBS Outdoor / Van Wagner: The 80/20 Deal

When CBS Outdoor Americas won the bidding contest for the bulk of Van Wagner Communications LLC’s out-of-home properties, the big number in the story became the price: $690 million.

There’s the prestige number: 8, as in acquiring assets in eight of the top 10 Nielsen-rated designated marketing areas (DMAs).

And, it’s a big score overall for CBS Outdoor, which shed its parent company of CBS Corp. and began running as a REIT only last week.

“It’s an acquisition of a portfolio of 25 top DMA assets that fit hand-in-glove with our existing network of displays,” said CBS Outdoor CEO Jeremy Male during a conference call yesterday with Wall Street stock analysts.

Ad Council Honors CEMUSA

NEW YORK – CEMUSA received the Ad Council’s Crystal Bell Award today at the 2014 TAB/OAAA Out of Home Media Conference & Marketing Expo.

The annual award, honoring an OOH company exceptional generosity and leadership in disseminating Ad Council public-service messages, went to CEMUSA for its donation of space, including bus shelters and newsstands in the New York City market.
