Greene Takes Large-Format Expertise to IDC

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.International Data Corporation (IDC) hires Tim Greene as a research director to lead the firm’s large-format printer research, and to contribute to digital signage and 3D printing research.

Greene joins IDC’s U.S.-based imaging, printing, and document solutions research team.

ATLANTA –Nominations are now being taken for the 12th Annual APEX Awards for Digital Signage Installations and Content.

Apex Awards - DSEThe awards, offered by digital-display/interactive-technology trade event DSE, will honor exceptional digital signage or interactive programs installed between Nov. 1, 2013, and Nov. 1 of this year. Submissions deadline is Friday, Oct. 17.

Almo Acquires Glantz Digital Sign Division

PHILADELPHIA — Almo Professional A/V will acquire the assets of Glantz Dynamic Solutions (GDS), as well as a familiar face to head the operation.

Almo announced the distribution-agreement deal Sept. 9, taking over the digital-signage division that N. Glantz & Son closed in mid-August.

Adspace Networks Adds Nine U.S. Malls

NEW YORK – Adspace Networks Inc. adds nine malls to its ever-expanding digital place-based network, bringing the total to 222 malls nationwide.

Adspace NetworksIncluded in the expansion will be The Mall at Bay Plaza in Bronx, N.Y., which opened Aug. 14. It’s the first enclosed mall to open in nearly 40 years in New York, with Adspace Networks as its exclusive digital partner.

The Mall at Bay Plaza is a 780,000 ft² three-level mall, which includes a new 160,000 ft² Macy’s (the first new New York location for the retailer in 15 years) and an existing JCPenney as the anchor tenants. More than 100 retail shops will operate at the mall, many of which will debut in the Bronx for the first time.
